Asst. Professor - Chemical Engineering teaches courses in the discipline area of chemical engineering. Professor - Chemical Engineering provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Asst. Professor - Chemical Engineering typically reports to a department head. Area-specific task requirements
Work/train anywhere in the area operation as assigned, including assisting with production
Properly fill, label, and position all hazardous and non-hazardous waste in identified storage/pickup areas
Perform housekeeping to ensure area safety and maintain audit-ready condition
Complete equipment clean-outs/turnarounds as required to ensure proper operation
Follow all standard operation and business procedures, safety, environmental, and quality guidelines, plant standards, and codes of conduct
Communicate with area Leadership regarding any production, product quality, or safety issues as they arise
Participate in area and business improvement activities, quality, mechanical integrity, and environmental, health and safety (EHS) compliance activities
Knowledgeable of OSHA standards and safe work practices
Attend leadership and skills training courses as offered
Demonstrate ability to drive a forklift truck
The following are required for the role
Must have at least a two-year degree from an accredited college/university in a related field or a high school diploma/GED with at least two years of chemical industry experience and/or experience in other manufacturing, warehousing or industrial environments
Ability to work continuous shift that requires nights, weekends, and holidays
Must possess a valid driver's license
Must be 18 years of age or older
Must have unrestricted authorization to work in the United States
Must be willing to submit to a pre-employment drug test, physical, and background investigation
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT
The physical demands and work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, bend, stoop, climb, and move about the facility. Walking, walking on irregular surfaces and balancing will be required. Feeling, finger movement, hearing, sight to include depth perception and color vision and the ability to speak clearly will be required. Occasionally lifting and/or move up to 50 lbs. and the ability to comply with PPE requirements(ability to pass a fit-test and wear a respirator is required for certain positions/locations). Ability to operate a vehicle.
