Asst. Professor - Civil Engineering jobs in New Hampshire

Loureiro Engineering Associates, Inc. is seeking a Civil Engineer to add to our team in Portsmoth, NH. Our goal is to employ the right individuals to be a part of our team, learning and working with experienced professionals who will help provide the formal training and mentoring needed to grow professionally and strive toward the opportunities that Loureiro can offer.

Responsibilities:

• May be expected to design portions of a project
• Makes calculations, using engineering formulas and skills
• Uses catalogs to specify items where original design is not required
• Instructs drafters how to reduce designs into completed drawings
• Performs research and writes opinions
• Uses computer to run standard programs in order to solve engineering problems
• Performs other work as apparent or assigned
• Works safely and abides by the firm’s policies and procedures
• Expected to design portions of a project without immediate oversight
• Responsible for task budgets under the supervision of a Project Manager

Skills and Abilities:

•    May be expected to design portions of a project 
• Understands the physical environment – including land forms and topography – and how these elements interact with the built environment
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Effective Technical Skills
• Team working skills

Qualifications:

• Must have a degree in engineering
• 0-5 year related experience 
• Alternatively, may have a master’s degree and no experience
• Have passed the EIT Exam
• Proficiency in AutoCAD

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods of sitting, walking, hiking, and standing.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. at a time.
• Mobility control of hands to setup equipment, handle samples, and operate tools.
• Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions and terrains.
• Adherence to safety protocols and proper use of personal protective equipment.
