Asst. Professor - Dentistry teaches courses in the discipline area of dentistry. Develops and designs curriculum plans to foster student learning, stimulate class discussions, and ensures student engagement. Being an Asst. Professor - Dentistry provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Asst. Professor - Dentistry typically reports to a department head. Requires a PhD or terminal degree appropriate to the field. Has experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate and graduate levels and contributes to research In a specialized field.       • PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATIONS:
        • Minimum:  
          • BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required through the RQI system during clinical orientation.
        • Preferred:
          • Certified Nurse Educator

      • WORK EXPERIENCE:
        • Minimum: 
          • 3 years clinical nursing experience
        • Preferred:
          • Prior teaching experience in nursing education med surg., critical care, and/or psch, maternity

      • SKILLS:
        • Minimum:  
          • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a complex, multi-entity health system. 
          • Ability to facilitate project management, work effectively under pressure, meet deadlines, manage multiple priorities and enhance the spirit of teamwork through effective role modeling. 
          • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with discretion. 
          • Excellent leadership, interpersonal, communication (written and oral), analytical, and organizational skills.
          • Demonstrated ability to deal effectively with the public in a professional and courteous manner.
          • Computer literacy required with word processing, spreadsheets. 
        • Preferred:
          • Previous experience with college of nursing accreditation (ACEN, CCNE).
