Essential Functions:

• Own the Safety Culture, ensuring a safe work environment and that employees use safe work methods and proper safety behavior.
• Supervise and coordinate coverage for all Roseburg wholesale and transport routes to distribution centers and direct store deliveries
• Learn the Xmobility program, xpedium, ERMS and Paragon, and become proficient with handheld computers
• Perform yearly Driver evaluations
• Assist with properly completing incident and injury reports.
• Develop driver daily, holiday and vacation schedules.
• Design/modify routes, with Transportation Manager, to ensure efficiency.
• Ensure driver route books are up to date.
• Assist with special deliveries and fill in on routes as needed.
• Monitor daily variance reports and work with drivers to solve issues.
• Monitor hours worked by team and approve all time, including overtime.
• Examine trucks on daily basis to ensure all damage is reported promptly and accurately.
• Be sure that pre and post trips are performed daily by the Route Drivers and that any truck issues are logged accordingly.
• Review Verizon connect on a regular basis to review and track movements
• Coordinate the filling and delivery of Whey tanker
• Verify proper operation and temperature of refrigerated equipment
• Lead the Transportation teams by effectively coaching and training Drivers.
• Provide annual training modules and training schedules for wholesale drivers.
• Provide oversight on departmental safety practices, systems, and procedures.
• Collaboratively develop and execute specific technical training to ensure driver skill levels are in line with company expectations.
• Always look for ways to streamline routes, become more efficient and reduce costs.
• Work in conjunction with fleet maintenance personnel on safety, operational integrity, and appearance of company vehicle
• Work with Vault Manager on routing and loading
• Oversee Yard Attendant operations
• Ensure execution of Producers Dairy standard operating processes.
• Collaborate with Transportation Manager to ensure proper employee relations culture and programs are in place.
• Help maintain the positive image of the Company in the trade, meeting customer’s expectations.
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory (OSHA, DOT, EPA, Food Safety, SQF) requirements.
• Learn all routes and conduct a minimum of one ride per year for each route.
• Work with the Ice Cream Vault Lead to coordinate the movement of product to and from the Cedar St. Whse
