POSITION OVERVIEW:

Assists therapists with specific physical therapy treatment programs for patients. Receives direction from: Physical Therapists

EDUCATION:

Graduate of a Physical Therapy Assistants Program

EXPERIENCE:

Physical Therapist Assistant assists in the implementation of treatment programs such as teaching patients to perform exercises and activities of daily living; coordinating treatments using special equipment, and or a variety of modalities such as heat, cold, massage hydrotherapy, or electrotherapy, and reporting/recording the patient's progress. 

LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS:

• State License as a Physical Therapy Assistant
• valid driver's license when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons. 

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

• Knowledge of the principles, practices, standards, and techniques of Physical therapy. 
• Knowledge of how to use and maintain physical therapy equipment.
• Knowledge of safety requirements. 
• Strong communication and math skills. 
• Keyboarding and computer skills.
• Able to identify and recommend problem resolution
