    The Lance College of Mines and Engineering (LCME) at Montana Technological University (Montana Tech) invites applications for an endowed Lance Energy Chair position. The college seeks an energetic, dynamic, business-savvy, and visionary leader with a significant background in energy systems, including policy, efficiency, production, storage, technology, innovation, and/or sustainability. 

    The primary responsibility of the Lance Energy Chair is to enhance the prominence of Montana Tech as a national leader in energy by leveraging private funding and developing partnerships with industry, trade organizations, national labs, and state/federal agencies.  The chair reports directly to the LCME dean and is expected to collaborate with engineering programs, including petroleum, mining, geological, metallurgical and materials, mechanical, electrical, environmental, and civil engineering.  The chair is expected to maintain an externally funded energy program and a small portfolio of teaching duties at the undergraduate and/or graduate levels.  An M.S. or Ph.D. in engineering or a closely related field is preferable, but applicants with a B.S. degree plus extensive experience are also encouraged to apply.
