Department Summary
The World Languages and Cultures Department (WLC), in the College of Liberal Arts, provides a BA degree in Spanish and minors in French, German, Italian Studies, Spanish, and Japanese. The Department serves all colleges in the University by offering language courses within General Education and electives. It is also active in aiding the University in foreign language endeavors and administers translation examinations in French, German, and Spanish for M.A candidates who require this; the Bilingual Proficiency Examination in Spanish for those students seeking entrance to the Bilingual Credential Program; and the Spanish Placement Examination for students whose majors require a language or students who wish to pursue a language but are unsure of placement.
