Asst. Professor - Legal Support teaches courses in the discipline area of legal services. Develops and designs curriculum plans to foster student learning, stimulate class discussions, and ensures student engagement. Being an Asst. Professor - Legal Support provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Asst. Professor - Legal Support typically reports to a department head. RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsibilities include typing, filing, answering phones, completing intakes, drafting correspondence and mailing court notices to clients. Use various online tools to search court records, record and keep track of all court appearances on the daily office calendar. Open and close client case files as needed and perform other office-related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Requires secretarial skills, knowledge of legal procedures, and experience using Microsoft Office 365 programs. Flexibility, independence, and confidence to work well under pressure. Must be culturally sensitive, well organized and a self-starter. Candidates for this position must also be comfortable using technology, learning new procedures and work well with the public.
SALARY:
$40, 000 - $50,000. Salary is negotiable and dependent upon qualifications.
