Professor - Liberal Arts provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Asst. Professor - Liberal Arts typically reports to a department head. Requires a PhD or terminal degree appropriate to the field. Has experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate and graduate levels and contributes to research In a specialized field.     The Cleveland Institute of Art seeks qualified applicants for Adjunct Faculty positions in Liberal Arts for electives in art history and visual culture. Courses may include the electives listed below or “special topics” courses in applicants’ areas of interest.
     
    Introduction to African Art
    Neo-Expressionism
    Art of East Asia
    Asian Art Survey
    American Craft History
     
    Minimum qualifications include a master’s degree in Art History or a related field or equivalent professional experience. Adjunct faculty are not eligible for benefits. Adjunct faculty are limited to a maximum of four teaching assignments per academic year. In-person teaching is required for this course.
     
    Compensation is commensurate with experience. Interested applicants should submit a letter of interest summarizing qualifications, CV, and a list of 3 references.
     
    The positions will begin in August 2024. Application reviews will begin immediately and will continue until the position is filled. Background check authorizations will be required for finalists.
