    Available Position for the 2024-2025 School Year: Reading and Mathematics Interventionist

    Reports to: Principal

    Status: Exempt; 10 month position

    Overview: Serves as an active member of the Schoolwide Title I and MTSS Committee. Responsible for developing tiered support through small group and individual reading and mathematics interventions and monitoring and analyzing student progress through data. Maintains a cooperative attitude with staff, parents, and students.

    Responsibilities

    • Promote the Mission and Vision of the school with students, colleagues, administration, and parents.
    • Create and maintain a nurturing, safe, and academically challenging learning environment.
    • Understands and participates in the Schoolwide PBIS program.
    • Assist in developing, implementing, and evaluating the Schoolwide Title I program.
    • Utilize the theory of Multiple Intelligences in lesson planning, pedagogy, and assessment as appropriate.
    • Coordinate and provide strategic and intensive reading and mathematics intervention.
    • Administer benchmark assessments; determine students' interventions based on results.
    • Report on school-wide benchmark assessment data to the Federal Programs Coordinator, MTSS Committee, and teachers.
    • Assist teachers in developing effective reading and mathematics instruction and assessment.
    • Promote high levels of achievement in relation to individual abilities.
    • Demonstrate knowledge of and implementation of research-based principles of intervention.
    • Organize interventions using clearly defined student outcomes.
    • Prepare Intervention Plans based on state reading and mathematics standards.
    • Develop and present at in-services and professional learning opportunities for staff as needed.
    • Plan and attend Schoolwide Title I Family Engagement activities.
    • Responsible for non-classroom student activities within the assigned workday.
    • Keep abreast of current trends in elementary/middle school intervention education.
    • Participate in professional development, continuing education, and PDE mandatory training.
    • Comply with School policies and procedures; submit required reports/forms etc.
    • Attend staff meetings and serve on committees, as required.
    • Perform other related duties as assigned by the principal and/or CEO.

    Qualifications:

    • Valid Pennsylvania Teaching Certificate. Bachelor’s degree; Master’s preferred.
    • Required clearances: FBI Fingerprinting, Child Abuse, and PA State Police Criminal Records
    • Completion of trainings required by HGMICS and the Pennsylvania Department of Education.
    • Willingness to understand and conform to the educational approach espoused in the School’s mission and vision statements.
