Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Asst. Professor - Mathematics typically reports to a department head. Requires a PhD or terminal degree appropriate to the field. Has experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate and graduate levels and contributes to research In a specialized field. Wells College, in Aurora, NY, is seeking applicants for a full-time Visiting Assistant Professor of Mathematics position beginning January 2024. The position is a one-semester appointment. It comes with a 3-3 teaching load. The focus of this position will be to steward our elementary math offerings, including such classes as pre-calculus and elementary statistics in consultation with both mathematics and other fields depending on quantitative literacy. Ability or experience teaching a diverse range of students desired.
Required Qualifications:
- PhD or terminal degree in Mathematics, statistics, or developmental math or related fields preferred.
- Undergraduate teaching experience is strongly preferred
- Demonstrated strong commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion and to a student-centered undergraduate education.
