Asst. Professor - Mathematics teaches courses in the discipline area of mathematics. Develops and designs curriculum plans to foster student learning, stimulate class discussions, and ensures student engagement. Being an Asst. Professor - Mathematics provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Asst. Professor - Mathematics typically reports to a department head. Requires a PhD or terminal degree appropriate to the field. Has experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate and graduate levels and contributes to research In a specialized field.   • Appointments are made on a term-by-term basis. Adjunct faculty are required to successfully complete an online Canvas LMS orientation course before being scheduled, as well as other training if required by the department. This is an on-site blended/hybrid course, students attend class in person 60% of the time and complete the remaining 40% online through Park’s Canvas Learning Management System. Local applicants only please.
    Must be able to work a flexible schedule.
    A background check and government security clearance will be required to get on base.

    Minimum Qualifications
    Masters in Mathematics or a Masters in Applied Mathematics. Candidates with a Masters in Statistics, Masters in Actuarial Science, Masters in Finance, Masters in Economics will also be considered.

    A development of certain basic concepts in probability and statistics that are pertinent to most disciplines. Topics include: probability models, discrete random variables, normal distributions, confidence intervals, and hypothesis testing.
