Position Summary:
The Registered Nurse-PNS (RN) will be responsible for the care and treatment of patients in a medical office setting as directed by a physician. The RN will ensure that quality care is provided to all patients and is responsible for maintaining confidential records of vital statistics and other pertinent data. The RN will notify patients of diagnostic test results, ensure that clients receive appropriate follow-up care, and educates patients to assure understanding of physicians orders effectively. The RN will perform duties including but not limited to; Rooming patients in a timely manner, recording nursing notes, vital signs, weight, etc., and coordinating care within the office team.
Qualifications
Education:
- Associates degree in Nursing (ADN) required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum of two years’ current experience in nursing practice required.
- Experience with Electronic Medical Record System preferred.
Licensure/Certification/Registration:
- Current RN licensure in the state of South Carolina required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

- Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with nursing colleagues, physicians, and department heads required.
- Exemplary core customer service skills strongly required.
- Knowledge of nursing theory and practice required.
- Strong organizational skills required.
- Strong PC skills required.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills required.
- Ability to remain calm and professional in situations required.
Working Conditions:
- Occasional exposure to difficult patients.
- Potential exposure to blood borne and airborne pathogens.
- Stress level high due to multiple demands frequently occurring simultaneously.
- Prolonged standing and walking required.
Physical Requirements:
Medium - While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently (activity or condition exists from 1/3 to 2/3 of the time) required to stand, sit, and walk; occasionally (activity or condition exists up to 1/3 of the time) to use hands, fingers; and frequently to talk or hear. The employee must exert 20 to 35 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 15 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Ability to hear to process instructions and safety code and alarms required.
