POSITION OBJECTIVE
Working with a high degree of independence and under general direction of the Director of Clinical Operations, the Assistant Director of Nursing will be responsible for managing medical care management, clinical compliance, and daily RN operations at Case Western Reserve University Health Services. The assistant director will also participate in clinical patient care and other duties as needed.

CONTACTS
Department: Continuous contact with University Health and Counseling Service providers and staff regarding clinical operations.
University: Regular contact with university colleagues to refer students to university resources such as Student Success, Residence Life, Academic Deans, Athletics, etc.
External: Regular contact with external peers to manage student referrals to outside community health care providers such University Hospitals, Cleveland Clinic Foundation and Metro Health.
Students: Frequent and direct contact with students in the clinical and care management settings.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
Provide clinical and administrative supervision, including management of day-to-day nursing assignments for all nurses and allied health staff. Provide timely feedback on performance including completion of annual performance reviews with the Director of Clinical Operations.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Experience/Licensing: RN license in the State of Ohio. Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of clinical nursing experience or Associate’s degree and 9 years of experience required. Minimum of 2 years of experience managing and overseeing staff and processes in a clinical setting preferred. Master’s degree preferred.

Standard Health and Counseling offices in a university campus setting.
Full-time professionals are exempt from overtime and are expected to work a minimum of 40 hours per week around the university’s core hours of operation. University Health and Counseling Services clinical work, outreach, and campus crisis/emergency response efforts may require UHCS staff to work evenings and weekends. This position is required to participate in an on-call schedule.
Staff may be required to adjust their clinical and administrative assignments, as needed, depending on departmental, divisional, and university needs. This may involve flexing to cover other clinical roles due to staff absence, changes in the model of care, or other reasons determined by the Assistant VP of UHCS.
Staff are expected to provide services on-site and in-person, with the understanding that there may be aspects of their role and responsibilities that could shift to virtual and/or via hybrid modalities, depending on university requirement, departmental need, public health guidance and/or at the discretion of the Executive Director of UHCS.
The employee will be exposed to bloodborne pathogens. Personal protective equipment (gloves and lab coat) will be provided. May be required to perform “on-call” coverage for students to advise on health concerns as an additional project.
