Professor - Physical Therapy provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Asst. Professor - Physical Therapy typically reports to a department head. The Physical Therapist Assistant is responsible for administering physical therapy modalities of treatment under the plan of care of a licensed Physical Therapist as needed. This is performed to assist each patient reach their maximum performance and level of functioning while learning to live within the limits of their capabilities. This position is under the direction of the Therapy Services Director.
Education:
Required: Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy Program Assistant Program
Experience:
• May be a new graduate, but prefer one (1) to two (2) years of staff PTA experience.
• Desirable skills include proficiency in written and verbal communication, proficiency with computerized documentation, and the ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with the public.
Licenses/Certificates:
Required: Current license or eligible for license in the State of New Mexico.
Required: Current BLS (Basic Life Support) required - Due by close on the last day of the month after one full month of work.
