    Norwich University's School of Criminology and Criminal Justice invites applications for a full-time renewable Lecturer in Sociology beginning July 2024, to teach eight to ten courses per academic year, the majority of which will be service classes such as introduction to sociology. In addition, the successful candidate may have advising and service responsibilities.

    Responsibilities:

    In addition to teaching courses in sociology, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to teach elective courses in the specialized area of military sociology. Lecturers have student advising responsibilities and may serve on school, college, and/or university committees as assigned by the Director.

    The residential program of the School of Criminology and Criminal Justice at Norwich University emphasizes the importance of evidence-based knowledge in understanding crime policy, programs and practice. It also strives to cultivate commitment to the principles of justice, ethics, public service and the development of leadership skills in its students. With over 400 students enrolled in our residential undergraduate B.A. program, criminal justice is the most popular major at Norwich.


    Job Requirements:


    Minimum qualifications include a Master's degree in a relevant or related field (e.g., sociology, anthropology, or social work) by the start date and documented success and experience teaching sociology at the college level.

    Preferred qualifications include a Ph.D. in a relevant field (e.g., sociology, anthropology, or social work) by the start date.
