Provides legal advice and counsel in support of business activities and transactions. Being an Attorney researches and interprets existing laws and regulations and anticipated changes to laws to guide informed decisions and reduce risk. Prepares and reviews various agreements, contracts, and other legal documents. Additionally, Attorney represents the organization in litigation, negotiations, and other matters where legal counsel is required. May have a billable hours requirement. Requires a JD. Supervises office legal processes under the direction of the Senior Regional Attorney
Supervises and monitors the office budget
Monitors and ensures compliance with federal and state regulations, policies, procedures, and standards while providing excellent customer service
Responds to inquiries and resolves issues from agency management, government officials, attorneys, parents, advocacy and community groups and other customers
Serves as primary office legal counsel
Develops and delivers training
Performs related work as assigned
Maintains relevant knowledge necessary to perform essential job functions
Attends work regularly in compliance with agreed-upon work schedule
Ensures security and confidentiality of sensitive and/or protected information
Complies with all agency policies and procedures, including those pertaining to ethics and integrity
