Requires State Bar membership. Typically reports to a manager. The Attorney work is closely managed. Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role.     Job Description:
    This position will assist the General Counsel to oversee the SCDA Information Service Management Unit, and ensure that the computer network infrastructure within the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office runs smoothly and meets the technology needs of the office, as well as the needs of our local law enforcement partners.

    In this role, the Assistant District Attorney must understand and keep up with current technology trends, and counsel the Office on constantly evolving issues such as cyber-security. Candidate will assess all SCDA technology initiatives and make recommendations for improvement.

    Additionally, the Assistant will be required to seek out innovative technology and software to improve the Office’s legal operations and then assist with its implementation, including office-wide trainings.

    This role will require intricate knowledge of the New York State criminal discovery laws, as the Assistant will be responsible for ensuring the Office is in compliance with electronic discovery rules.

    Lastly, the Assistant will be responsible for finding technology grants and assisting Grant Analysts in their grant writing.

    Starting salary for lateral applicants is primarily based on experience level and work assignment. Thereafter, salary adjustments will be awarded based upon merit and longevity.
