Audio Visual Technician responsibilities include installing, configuring, operating, disassembling, and troubleshooting audio visual equipment. Performs production editing, routine maintenance, and inventory tracking. Responds to and resolves routine questions and technical issues. Additionally, Audio Visual Technician may require an associate degree. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Audio Visual Technician works independently within established procedures associated with the specific job function. Has gained proficiency in multiple competencies relevant to the job.   • POSITION SUMMARY

    The Audio-Visual Technician is responsible for providing AV support for all programs, events, and meetings in addition to assisting with all elements of classroom set up.  The AV tech is also responsible for determining equipment needs and training end users on how to operate AV equipment properly and safely.

     

    Accountabilities

    • Set up classroom and AV equipment for all programs, events, and meetings.  This includes, but is not limited to, seating, yoga props and program supplies, installation and maintenance of microphones, speakers, display devices, projectors, televisions, video cameras, and computers.  
    • Set-up and engineer live concerts.
    • Set-up and support livestream programs.
    • Provide AV system training to faculty and assistants.
    • Anticipate the needs of faculty and guests and provide excellent customer service.
    • Understand and follow AV procedures and workflows, completing tasks in a safe, accurate, and timely manner.
    • Effectively troubleshoot A/V issues.
    • Complete equipment inspection, repair and preventive maintenance as assigned.
    • Assist with inventory management and upkeep of AV shop.
    • Provide coverage or perform special projects and miscellaneous duties as assigned by management, within Production and in other areas of the organization when needed.

    MINIMAL QUALIFICATIONS

    • Associate degree or equivalent experience operating audio-visual equipment for live events to include lectures, concerts and special programming.
    • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand or work on feet for extended periods
    • Must have a driver’s license and pass a background check
    • Willingness to work evenings and weekends essential

     

    VALUED BUT NOT ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

    • Prior non-profit experience.
    • Prior experience with livestreamed events and web-based meeting platforms.
