Auditing Director executes a comprehensive enterprise-wide internal auditing strategy, function, and practice adhering to auditing standards and regulatory requirements. Uses auditing governance frameworks and procedures to plan and manage the auditing schedules, projects, teams, and tasks required to meet defined objectives. Being an Auditing Director engages with other functions across the enterprise, like risk, finance, information technology, and security, to facilitate audits. Prepares audit reports and recommends enhanced controls or processes as needed. Additionally, Auditing Director builds auditing teams and expertise with coaching and developmental initiatives. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically requires a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). May sometimes require Certified Internal Auditor (CIA). Typically reports to a director. The Auditing Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be an Auditing Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. Accounting/Auditing Assistant

  • Primary Purpose: Ensure the integrity of the district’s procurement process by reviewing bills and purchasing requisitions for accuracy, account coding, documentations, and required approvals.

     

    Experience/Education:

    • High School diploma
    • At least two years accounting/audit/finance experience
    • Associates degree in accounting or related field preferred.

     

    Special Knowledge/Skills:

    • Ability to analyze and interpret financial data, evaluate accounting problems, develop data, and recommend improved procedures.
    • Ability to software to develop complex accounting reports, spreadsheets, and databases.
    • Effective organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
    • Proficiency in Excel software.

    Major Responsibilities and Duties:

                Accounting:

    • Classify, record, and summarize numerical and financial data to compile and maintain financial records according to governmental accounting principles and district procedures.
    • Prepare/process/post Journal Entries, Budget Amendments, and spreadsheets for investments rates/tax collections/fixed assets records, etc.
    • Review payment register, receipts, documentation, and signatures prior to payments.
    • Monitor vendor records for accuracy and receipt of IRS Form W-9.

    Administration:

    • Assist the receptionist in greeting visitors, receiving and routing calls/messages/inquiries to appropriate personnel in accordance with district policies/procedures/building security.
    • Distribute daily office mail in the absence of the receptionist.
    • Work with district/campus administration, directors, and staff regarding budget and accounting issues.
    • Maintain and administer the district’s online school store, internal forms/spreadsheets
    • Maintain and operate the district’s electronic sign with current information for the community.

    Records and Reports:

    • Compile, revise, prepare, review, and post yearly budgets, and file all reports, records, and required documentation, including auditable records and financial statements.
    • Prepare reports for the School Board and monthly financial reports in Ascender.
    • Assist CFO as needed.

    Mental/Physical/Environmental Demands/Factors:

    • Frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress; occasional prolonged/irregular hours
    • Prolonged sitting; repetitive hand motions with use of standard office and computer equipment
    • Light lifting, carrying, occasional reaching, bending, stooping, twisting, pushing/pulling
