Functional Automation Specialist

    • Implement standards for functional testing tools, frameworks, and processes.
    • Help Design and implement functional automation frameworks that can be leveraged by multiple teams across the enterprise, ensuring the frameworks can be maintained, are scalable, meet the needs of different enterprise use cases, and ensuring the solutions allow for integration with Prudential’s CI/CD pipelines.
    • Perform maintenance and enhancements to standard functional test automation frameworks.
    • Research and recommend innovative ways to deliver solutions to complex testing challenges.
    • Participate in functional testing tool research and development, tool evaluations and proof of concepts. Provide feedback on tool and framework performance based on identified key criteria.
    • Drive implementation of test automation tools and frameworks across the enterprise.
    • Drive functional test automation solutions that allow agile teams to work on their own (self-service) to construct and execute functional test coverage within their development sprints.
    • Help design training and best practices for efficient construction and usage of functional test automation tools and frameworks.
    • Work collaboratively across Prudential and third-party vendors to deliver robust, technical solutions that support our customer’s success.
    • Research latest industry practices and tooling and identify opportunities to introduce new capabilities or tools that advance the quality engineering discipline at Prudential.
    • Help implement solutions that support functional testing running with optimized test data and test environments.
    • Ensure we are offering our Business and Technology partners best-in-class services.

    Qualifications:

    • BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent program
    • 5 years of experience with Information Technologies
    • 3 years of experience in Quality Assurance and test automation
    • Knowledge and experience with full SDLC lifecycle
    • Familiarity and experience working in an Agile environment

    Skills:

    • Ability to work in fast paced environment and drive business outcomes
    • Understanding of functional testing strategies and tooling
    • Experience with Agile management tools like JIRA
    • Experience with Agile test management tools like Xray or TestRail
    • Experience providing test automation solutions leveraging tools such as Selenium, Junit, Appium, Cucumber, Cypress, Rest Assured, Postman
    • Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills as the candidate will be interfacing with other product teams and business units
    • Good understanding of object-oriented programming languages such as Java and Python
    • Experience leveraging test automation frameworks
    • Strong expertise with CI/CD pipelines and tools like Jenkins
    • Working knowledge of databases and SQL
    • Working knowledge of cloud-based solutions similar to AWS
    • Strong analytical skills
    • Experience and desire to work in a global delivery environment
    • Experience implementing software testing and test automation
