Helps diagnose issues, uses electronic indicator systems to identify problems, and performs routine safety checks on brakes, suspension, exhaust, cooling, and other systems. Additionally, Automotive Mechanic adheres to appropriate safety procedures. Typically requires a high school diploma. Typically requires a Certificate in Automotive Technology. Applicant must be skilled in repair, maintenance and installation of belt conveyors, screw conveyors, elevators, pumps, compressors, fans, feeders, water, air and gas lines and valves. Blueprint experience is helpful. Safe working habits are a MUST. Pay is $34.77 with an increase after successful probationary period.
