Cantoro Italian Market & Trattoria is inspired by the famous Italian markets in Rome, Venice and Palermo. We are the largest Italian market in Michigan a 55,000 square foot Italian culinary mecca with an award-winning restaurant attached.

Throughout the year, owners Michael and John Fallone travel to their father Mario’s Italian birthplace in search of the best food and wines to bring back to Cantoro, items found nowhere else in the U.S.

Seeking responsible, motivated individuals to join our Bakery Counter Team!

1 year food retail service / restaurant experience is preferred. Candidates must be presentable, reliable, have good communication skills and demonstrate a high degree of drive and determination.

Knowledge of Health Department regulations for proper handling of foods preferred. Depending on experience, pay rate can be negotiated, but open and flexible availability is a must.

Responsibilities

• Anticipate and deliver exceptional service consistently.
• Help any area of the department when needed.
• Must keep bakery case presentation impeccable.
• Maintain a clean and sanitary work area.
• Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers.

Minimum 18 years of age.

• Previous experience in customer service / bakery preferred.
• Knowledge of food preparation, storage / handling.
• Have open availability (Counter shifts are 6am-12pm and 12pm-8 : 30pm) including some nights and weekends.
• Stand on feet for 8 hours, lifting and bending
• Be able to multitask and work with a sense of urgency
• Requires ability to lift 25 pounds frequently.
