Commercial Loan Processing Specialist
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Research loan requests for proper approval and regulation guidelines, as well as initiate communication and orders with vendors for third party services. Review items as they are received from lending staff for accuracy including approval limits, LTV, lien position, insurance requirements, and other underwriting criteria. Data entry for commercial real estate loans as well as other large dollar amount loans- including letters of credit. Accurately determine fees required for specific types of loans. Order appropriate vendor items to include appraisal report, flood determination, title search, and any other needed items per Bank policy. Read and understand the title opinion/ title commitment, appraisal report, and other information to identify any issues to address prior to closing. Work with loan officer, vendors, compliance department, and management to resolve any issues prior to finalizing loan documentation for closings. Assemble and verify accuracy and completeness of related documents. Assist loan officers and vendors (appraisers and attorneys) with note-related questions and provide complete closing package to attorney and/or lender. Adhere to compliance with all federal bank regulations and laws, including those for consumer protection and the Bank Secrecy Act/Anti-Money Laundering Program. Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements and Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. Three to five years’ banking or legal experience preferred. Must possess knowledge of banking laws and regulations related to contracts with individual or corporate customers and all aspects of real estate lending, collateralization and compliance, including BSA/AML regulations and understand the implications of those laws. Knowledge of all aspects of real estate lending, documentation, collateralization, UCC-1 Law, lien perfection, and the reading of deeds of trust. Must have excellent computer skills- specifically related to documentation and loan processing and the ability to use a scanner/printer. Experience with Microsoft Office Applications and proficient in Excel. LaserPro experience preferred. Must possess excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to multi-task and interact professionally-by phone and email, with other processors, lenders and third-party vendors. Understanding of the loan-funding process and use of general ledger accounts for funding. Excellent time management and prioritization skills. Multi-tasked - must be able to perform several duties at the same time and effectively manage a pipeline. Must be able to work extended hours as needed and the ability to work in a cubicle work environment.
