Our client, a global leader in manufacturing machinery for the construction equipment sector, is looking to hire a Director of Operations.
The Director of Operations will report directly to the President and will serve as the executive in charge of the South Carolina production facility's overall leadership, management, planning, and execution.
This is an on-site role in Moore, SC.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS:
- Oversee all functions of the manufacturing facility, including safety, quality, production, maintenance, human resources, environmental compliance, procurement, budgeting, shipping/receiving, and financial control.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to the management team to ensure production goals are met safely, on time, and within budget.
- Collaborate with the head office on annual plans and policies to ensure the success of the manufacturing facility.
- Work closely with the head office on production planning, production engineering, procurement, and quality targets.
- Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations by maintaining the factory to the required standards.
- Develop and implement manufacturing strategies and continuous improvement projects to enhance safety, quality, productivity, and cost-effectiveness.
- Develop an auditing plan to ensure the successful completion of annual ISO, JSOX, safety, and quality audits.
- Act as a visible leader to staff, the community, customers, and the parent company.
- Perform any other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field.
- 10 years of experience in a manufacturing setting.
- Experience in a leadership role in the construction equipment industry.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with global and local stakeholders.
- Deep understanding of the production, procurement, safety, quality, environmental, and human resources functions necessary for successful manufacturing operations.
- Ability to recruit, mentor, lead, motivate, and develop a high-performing team.
- Knowledge of financial and business management functions.
- Understanding of auditing requirements associated with safety, quality, and general JSOX audits.
- Familiarity with MRP/ERP inventory systems and inventory controls.
- Willingness to travel locally and internationally as required.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
