The job of Technical Analyst is done for the purpose/s of performing a variety of technical and professional administrative activities; including providing graduated levels of complex data collection, analysis, reconciliation and reporting; creating, maintaining and providing training on systems or software to staff; providing analysis on policies, regulations and applicable law to administration, management, or School Board; may require education or certification in finance, human resources, data and assessment, information systems, pupil transportation, risk management or other administrative functions. Responsive primarily to internal customers, government or regulatory agencies or the School Board.
This job reports to Director of Human Resources and Payroll, with reporting function to Director of Finance and Operations
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
SKILLS are required to perform multiple, technical tasks with a need to occasionally upgrade skills in order to meet changing job conditions. Specific skills required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: operating standard office equipment; performing assessment, accounting or payroll/HR procedures as applicable and/or; preparing and maintaining accurate records; using pertinent software applications specific to job/department.
KNOWLEDGE is required to perform intermediate math, including calculations using fractions, percent, and/or ratios; understand written procedures, write routine documents, and speak clearly; and solve practical problems. Specific knowledge required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job includes: business telephone etiquette; computer and internet operations; and federal, state and local policies, procedures and practices specific to job/department.
ABILITY is required to schedule activities; gather and/or collate data; and use basic, job-related equipment. Flexibility is required to work with others; work with data utilizing defined and similar processes; and operate equipment using defined methods. Ability is also required to work with a wide diversity of individuals; work with similar types of data; and utilize specific, job-related equipment. In working with others, some problem solving may be required to identify issues and select action plans. Problem solving with data requires independent interpretation of guidelines; and problem solving with equipment is limited. The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; and significant fine finger dexterity. Generally the job requires 80% sitting, 10% walking, and 10% standing. This job is performed in a generally clean and healthy environment.
Experience
Requires two to four years of data entry, processing and reporting experience in the area of payroll and benefits
Experience with school district contracts and payroll a plus. Must be very proficient with spreadsheets (prefer MS Excel).
Minimum of associate degree or certificates providing assurance of proficiency in bookkeeping or accounting, including payroll processes,
Five years of experience in payroll processing and bookkeeping may be substituted for education.
