Job Title: Clerk VII – Account Manager
Supervisor: Payroll Supervisor and/or Director of Payroll and Benefit Services
Terms of Employment: 240 days
Job Summary:
Assist the Coordinator in the overall operation of Payroll and Benefit Services
Essential Duties
- Compare and ensure accuracy of employee salaries and notify employees of salary changes.
- Present payroll and benefit new-hire information to employees
- Input appropriate payroll and benefit data into district management information system
- Calculate leave allowances for employees.
- Process sick bank pay, supplement pay and extra pay for employees.
- Maintain appropriate payroll and benefit files for assigned employees.
- Verify employment and wage information for appropriate outside agencies/vendors.
- Respond to employee questions and requests.
- Assist in preparation of payroll reporting as required by federal and state law
- Assist with general payroll entry including W-4, direct deposit and garnishment processing
Other Duties
Perform other tasks and assume other responsibilities that may be assigned by the Director of Payroll and Benefit Services and/or the Chief Finance Officer.
Job Specifications
Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on Evaluation of Professional Personnel.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required)
- Associates degree preferred with major course work in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration.
- Three (3) years of payroll and/or benefit experience in a school system, other governmental agency, or large organization.
- Knowledge of computer applications as related to specific job functions, including a basic knowledge of computerized payroll and benefit systems.
- Proficient in the use of Excel, Word, and Microsoft Access applications and flat file manipulation.

- Read a computer screen and printed material with or without vision aids;
- Hear and understand speech at normal levels and on the telephone; and
- Speak in audible tones so that others may understand clearly in person and on the telephone.
