    Basic Requirements (IOR):
    • Degree: Mathematics, statistics, computer science, data science or field directly related to the position. The degree must be in a major field of study (at least at the baccalaureate level) that is appropriate for the position or

    Specialized Experience:

This graduate degree must meet the IOR with a degree Mathematics, statistics, computer science, data science or field of study directly related to the position.     • Combination of Education and Specialized Experience for the GS-11: Applicants may substitute a combination of graduate education and specialized experience to qualify for grade GS-11. There is no educational substitution authorized for the grade level of GS-13.

    Volunteer Experience: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religions; spiritual; community; student; social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.     Physical Requirements: The work is sedentary, involving walking, standing, sitting, bending and carrying of light items such as paper, books and computer print outs.

    Work Environment: Work is typically performed in an office setting which is adequately lighted, heated and ventilated. May be required to occasionally travel.

    Promotion Potential: The selectee may be promoted to the full performance level without further competition when all regulatory, qualification, and performance requirements are met.
