Benefits Director oversees the development, implementation, administration, and maintenance of benefits programs, policies, and procedures. Being a Benefits Director establishes practices for evaluating existing benefits programs against peer organizations to determine competitiveness, trends and developments. Makes high-level decisions to modify existing benefits programs or institute new ones. Additionally, Benefits Director requires a bachelor's degree. May require Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS). Typically reports to top management. The Pulaski County Public Library Board of Trustees is looking for a motivated individual to fill the position of Library Director. The current Library building has been in operation since 2008, with the Library itself being established in 1908 as one of the original Carnegie Libraries. Not only does the Library district have a downtown branch, there are also four smaller libraries in outer parts of the county as well as a Bookmobile.
The Library Director will be appointed through a series of interviews conducted by the Board of Trustees as well as the current Director and HR Manager. The Director will help the staff of the library carry out and promote community support, communication and collaboration as well as providing patrons access to historical, recreational, educational, and cultural materials free of charge.

Responsibilities: The Library Director will act as the Library board's executive officer as well as implementing policies and decisions of the Board of Trustees. Candidate will be responsible for oversight of budget proposals, expenditures, and reporting to the Library Board. The Director also is responsible for overseeing the Library's ongoing collection development plan and supervises the selection, purchase, and withdrawal of Library materials. It is also the Director's responsibility to recruit, select, hire, supervise, evaluate, and terminate library staff in accordance with civil services regulations where applicable, as well as recommending improvements in staffing, organization, salaries, and benefits to the library board. Qualifications: The Library Director will require a Masters of Library Science Degree from an accredited institution with a minimum of 3 years Library Director experience. Candidate must be eligible for Professional Certification from the Kentucky Department of Libraries and Archives. Must have management and supervisory responsibility of five years of progressively more responsible library management experience.
