Bereavement Coordinator plans and provides bereavement counseling and support to survivors. Assesses individual needs and coordinates with multi-disciplinary teams to develop and deliver a holistic support plan. Being a Bereavement Coordinator guides survivors to appropriate bereavement resources. Facilitates grief support group sessions. Additionally, Bereavement Coordinator requires a bachelor's degree in social work. May require the applicable State License to Practice Clinical Social Work. Typically reports to a manager. The Bereavement Coordinator occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function.     Facility name: Otero County Prison

    Location: 10 McGregor Range Road, Chaparral, NM

    Work schedule: Full time, Monday – Friday

    The Count Room Coordinator is responsible for the administration of systems and procedures related to inmate records, as well as supervising the records and general clerks.

    Essential Functions:

    • Coordinate with department heads and administrative staff on department issues.
    • Develop and implement facility procedures pertaining to inmate classification issues. Conduct training on classification topics.
    • Provide technical assistance and serve as a resource for the facility, Otero County and United States Marshal Services on classification issues.
    • Supervise, select, and train staff assigned to the count room area.
    • Serve as a coordinator for the U.S. Parole Commission, U.S. Probation and Pretrial Services, and the Federal Courts.
    • Administer, manage, and control the inmate release process at the facility. Coordinate with and obtain Otero County or USMS approval by the warden.
    • Maintain quality control for all documentation and official correspondence prepared by classification staff.
    • Manage all sent and/or received files, department records, cards, forms and correspondence.
    • Monitor the inmate classification process at the facility, ensuring that applicable policies and procedures are followed.

    Education and Experience Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, social services, or human services
    • Three (3) years related experience required, one (1) of which must be in a supervisor capacity. Directly related experience may be considered in lieu of formal education requirements, if approved by management.
    • Valid driver’s license in the state of New Mexico or the state of Texas with an acceptable driving record required, unless waived by management.
