Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Medical Biller to join our team. The Medical Biller will be responsible for accurately coding and billing orthotic and prosthetic claims, ensuring timely reimbursement, and maintaining patient records. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of medical billing procedures, coding systems, and medical terminology.

Responsibilities:

- Review and verify accuracy of patient demographic and insurance information

- Assign appropriate medical codes (ICD-9, ICD-10, DRG) to diagnoses and procedures

- Prepare and submit electronic or paper claims to insurance companies

- Follow up on unpaid or denied claims, resubmitting as necessary

- Process payments from insurance companies and patients

- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records

- Collaborate with medical office staff to ensure proper billing practices

- Answer patient inquiries regarding billing and insurance coverage

- Assist with medical collections as needed

Requirements:

- High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree in healthcare administration or related field preferred

- Proven experience as a Medical Biller or in a similar role

- Strong knowledge of medical billing procedures, coding systems (ICD-9, ICD-10), and medical terminology

- Familiarity with electronic medical record systems

- Proficient in using billing software and MS Office applications

- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy

- Strong organizational and time management skills

- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with integrity

- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
