Biomedical Engineer applies engineering and scientific principles and methodologies to design and develop medical technologies and devices to support and enhance patient care and improve healthcare outcomes. Conducts research and testing to address specific medical conditions, improve the performance of existing devices, and develop new products. Being a Biomedical Engineer collaborates with medical professionals to gather information for product specifications. Ensures that designs and devices meet regulatory, safety, and quality requirements and standards, such as the FDA regulations and ISO standards. Additionally, Biomedical Engineer utilizes or develops software to perform testing or integrate with devices. Requires a bachelor's degree in biomedical engineering or a related engineering or science discipline. Typically reports to a manager. The Biomedical Engineer work is closely managed.     Reporting to the General Manager, Biomedical, this role will play a key role in identifying and managing and informing internal and external biomedical research using Modern Meadow's advanced application platforms for the improvement of human health and healing.

    Responsibilities will include analysis of scientific and patent literature, competitive intelligence, supporting internal and external technology development projects, including project management in partnership with the GM as directed by Business Unit (BU) Goals.

    Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

    • Drive project leadership for research initiatives and collaborations, including implementing processes and metrics for tracking progress.
    • Identify and scope potential research projects to advance commercial development of Modern Meadow's technologies.
    • Liase with the Science & Technology group, supporting internal project teams in developing project charters and project briefs, while bridging
    • Evaluate research and patent publications and trends across a diversity of biomedical areas and identify collaborative opportunities and competitive threats.
    • Lead primary and secondary market research to evaluate and validate commercial strategies and opportunities.
    • Support the negotiation and execution of commercial agreements.
    • In partnership with General Manager, support outreach to potential collaborators and industry partners.
    • Represent Modern Meadow at industry events, symposia, and conferences.
    • Own financial and strategic analysis as directed by senior leaders.

    Experience, Skills & Knowledge:

    • Masters in Life Sciences plus 8 years full-time work experience within technology transfer, business development, or product development.
    • Demonstrated ability to analyze and communicate scientific and technical information and concepts
    • Demonstrated skill in performing market and competitive research using scientific, commercial, and patent data sources and tools.
    • Basic understanding of the life science industry and intellectual property law
    • Strong interpersonal, meeting skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams
    • Excellent communications skills both verbal and written
    • Expert proficiency in Microsoft Office
    • Ability be physically on campus 60% at our Nutley, NJ HQ
    • Ability to travel as dictated by business needs for various events and or conferences
