Biomedical Engineer jobs in Vermont

Biomedical Engineer applies engineering and scientific principles and methodologies to design and develop medical technologies and devices to support and enhance patient care and improve healthcare outcomes. Conducts research and testing to address specific medical conditions, improve the performance of existing devices, and develop new products. Being a Biomedical Engineer collaborates with medical professionals to gather information for product specifications. Ensures that designs and devices meet regulatory, safety, and quality requirements and standards, such as the FDA regulations and ISO standards. Additionally, Biomedical Engineer utilizes or develops software to perform testing or integrate with devices. Requires a bachelor's degree in biomedical engineering or a related engineering or science discipline. Typically reports to a manager. The Biomedical Engineer work is closely managed.     Posting Summary
    Repair, calibrate, install and perform preventive maintenance on a variety of complex medical instruments. Perform duties including repair service, performance inspection and customer support in the management of clinical technology for multiple clients in Northern Maine.

    Minimum Qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
    Associate degree in Biomedical Technology, Electronics or related field with one to two years related experience required. Effective communication, customer service and computer skills required. Valid driver’s license or ability to obtain and driver’s check required. Lifting up to 70lbs. occasionally required. Specific physical requirements may apply based on job functions.

    Desirable Qualifications
    Certification as a Biomedical Equipment Technician desirable
