The Pantex Engineering Technical Assurance Senior Director is responsible for providing overall strategy and technical guidance for facility configuration management (CM), engineering standards, engineering assurance, and lifecycle systems engineering.
Responsibilities include:
*Ensuring the Pantex CM/Data Governance programs adhere to requirements of DOE-STD-1073, Configuration Management, with regard to the facility's technical baselines,
*For Mission Engineering, maintain performance metrics, tracking of Business Operating Plan/Business Area Plan commitments, tracking of issues management commitments, and fostering process improvements,
*Implementation and oversight of Engineering processes in accordance with Pantex NQA-1 program
*Overseeing discipline Chief Engineers as they support general Pantex operations,
*Overseeing and maturing the Pantex lifecycle systems engineering (LSE) program in support of new project requirement throughout its lifecycle,
*Successful budgeting, staffing, and financial performance of organization.
The candidate will possess demonstrated outstanding people skills, with the ability to energize, organize, and lead groups of engineering personnel. As a manager at a senior level the ability to develop comprehensive strategies for implementation of subject; effectively communicate and structure messages to achieve end strategy; and maintain cognizance of the team progress along with necessary adjustments is required. This position requires strong communication skills and the ability to effectively motivate and manage personnel, coordinate, and resolve programmatic positions with peer managers, and engage other organizations as necessary. The ability to present complex data & other material to senior CNS Leadership is imperative. Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in engineering (from an ABET-accredited institution) or one of the Physical Sciences. In addition, a minimum 15 years relevant experience and a minimum 5 years management experience is required.
In addition, the applicant must meet the requirements of DOE O 426.2 (i.e., Baccalaureate in engineering or related science and 4 years nuclear experience, or a DOE O 426.2 alternative). DOE O 426.2 experience requirements can be satisfied following employment. In the interim, newly hired personnel will not be assigned duties that could impact the safety basis of nuclear facilities.
