Biomedical Engineering Director directs and coordinates biomedical equipment service operations that provide lifecycle management of biomedical clinical and research equipment including safety testing, repair, maintenance, and user support. Establishes standards and procedures for equipment maintenance, testing, calibration, documentation, and inventory processes. Being a Biomedical Engineering Director provides technical leadership and develops applicable training and resources for medical staff to ensure correct and safe operations of all equipment and devices. Works with vendors to maintain up-to-date information about new products and equipment upgrades. Additionally, Biomedical Engineering Director supports the equipment needs of all specialty areas including Radiology, Clinical Pathology, Cardiology, Respiratory Therapy, and others. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director or head of a unit/department. The Biomedical Engineering Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Biomedical Engineering Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience.     The Engineering Director will assist the resort leaders in overseeing and maintaining the daily operation of Gurney's Montauk. This position directly impacts the experience of all guests and employees by ensuring a structurally safe, exceptionally clean, and highly maintained positive environment. This role will be responsible for preventative maintenance plan, perform electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and general carpentry work.

    Your Responsibilities:

    • Conduct maintenance tasks for Gurney's Montauk as scheduled by the General Manager.
    • Perform routine upkeep of the shared public areas, for example; lawns, entry, exterior lighting, walkways, laundry, storage, dumpster, and parking areas
    • Inspect and maintain all interior and exterior public and nonpublic areas on a daily basis, including all guest rooms, corridors, meeting rooms, food and beverage outlets and kitchen to ensure safety and security measure are functioning properly
    • Implement and maintain an efficient work order system while maintaining an activity log to track and monitor progress.
    • Create response time and goals.
    • Ensure policies and procedures are developed, maintained, and distributed to appropriate personnel to provide adequate instructions and directions
    • Assist with function set up, for example; electrical and lighting and needs
    • Respond to various needs . For example; trash pick up in parking lots, lighting needs inside and outside of the hotel, room repairs, snow removal etc...
    • Perform basic maintenance involving plumbing, electrical and carpentry throughout the units
    • Perform temperature checks, oil, and meter readings as scheduled
    • Service and operate equipment on property including hotel boiler, hot water heater, air handlers, pumps etc...
    • Maintain pool area through the following: Testing of chlorine, operating pump and keeping area clean
    • Respond to complaints and take appropriate action up to and including calling local enforcements, General Manager, Human Resource Director, Manager on Duty etc...
