Biomedical Engineering Director directs and coordinates biomedical equipment service operations that provide lifecycle management of biomedical clinical and research equipment including safety testing, repair, maintenance, and user support. Establishes standards and procedures for equipment maintenance, testing, calibration, documentation, and inventory processes. Being a Biomedical Engineering Director provides technical leadership and develops applicable training and resources for medical staff to ensure correct and safe operations of all equipment and devices. Works with vendors to maintain up-to-date information about new products and equipment upgrades. Additionally, Biomedical Engineering Director supports the equipment needs of all specialty areas including Radiology, Clinical Pathology, Cardiology, Respiratory Therapy, and others. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director or head of a unit/department. The Biomedical Engineering Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Biomedical Engineering Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience.     As Engineering Director, you will be responsible for fostering cohesive ways of working in delivering key performance indicators to achieve world class engineering standards and performance. You will also ensure compliance with legislative policies to ensure procedures and regulations are met.

    Key Responsibilities:

    This role will provide YOU the opportunity to lead key activities to progress YOUR career. These responsibilities include some of the following:

    • Develop and implement an engineering strategy and performance for the site

    • Create an organization design to deliver world class performance focusing on key areas, effective maintenance, facilities, utilities, and projects

    • Deliver long term needs for technical skills and mastery throughout engineering, operations, and production engineering

    • Ensure that the site has an effective maintenance management system that is aligned with the needs of Operations and other Site Functions

    • Responsible for capital management program to ensure that the facility is maintained at the compliance standard and invests for service, value, quality, safety, and sustainability

    • Ensure investment model is aligned to financial ambition for best cost to the customer

    • Implement a Global Engineering Standards and performance management system to ensure that the site performs optimally

    • Engage and ensure that Employee Health and Safety, Quality, and Value are built into all parts of the design

    • Ensure site repairs, maintenance, and energy costs are benchmarked as best in class and cost to optimize plant availability and performance

    • Manage an effective investment strategy for Engineering spare parts and replacement

    • Lead the Site Master Plan to an effective cohesive plan linked to site Strategy

    • Maintain continuous contacts with technology suppliers and encourage knowledge sharing within the Engineering function

    • Control and monitoring the technological rating of equipment and devices in the plant

    • Ensure an engineering capability ladder is developed and implemented on site

    • Lead and define effective governance within the budget of technology investments and control the process of purchasing in close cooperation with the department of finance

    Basic Qualifications:

    We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:

    • Bachelor's degree

    • 5 years' Engineering Management experience

    • 10 years' experience in Project, Process, Validation, Reliability Engineering and Plant maintenance

    • People Leadership experience managing multi-disciplined engineering teams

    • Experience managing the Capital Management Program and investment modeling

    • Experience ensuring that Employee Health and Safety, Quality, and Value are adhered to

    Preferred Qualifications:

    If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:

    • Bachelor's degree in Engineering

    • Ability to influence and lead strategic change across functions and disciplines and at all levels of the organization

    • Knowledge of the latest continuous improvement methodologies, tools and techniques with a proven ability to implement them with demonstrated results

    • Demonstrated project management experience and skills

    • Experience developing and operating budgets

    • Ability to attract and develop top talent
