Biomedical Engineering Technician jobs in Alaska

Biomedical Engineering Technician delivers biomedical equipment services that provide safety testing, repair, maintenance, and user support of biomedical clinical and research equipment. Assembles, installs, repairs, and maintains a variety of medical equipment. Being a Biomedical Engineering Technician tests the functionality of equipment and takes accuracy, sensitivity, and selectivity measurements to calibrate devices. Coordinates with medical staff and vendors to troubleshoot problems, resolve equipment malfunctions and enable new devices. Additionally, Biomedical Engineering Technician supports medical staff with equipment operations training. Typically requires an associate degree. Typically requires Biomedical Equipment Technician (BMET). Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Biomedical Engineering Technician works independently within established procedures associated with the specific job function. Has gained proficiency in multiple competencies relevant to the job.     We are looking for a full-time Engineering Technician in our Anchorage office to be an integral part of the success of our company. Develops detailed models of piping, raceway, ductwork, and equipment used in planning and construction of vertical and process engineering projects and assists in standards development and management of BIM processes and workflow.

     

    Duties/Responsibilities:

    • Performing drafting tasks in Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD
    • Collaborating with engineers and technicians
    • Performs other duties as assigned

     

    Required Skills/Abilities:

    • 3D modeling and BIM familiarity
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

     

    Education and Experience:

    • Entry Level Position
    • Associate Degree of Applied Science (AAS) in Architectural and Engineering Technology or similar, already graduated or will graduate in the next four months

     

    At CRW you will learn to:

    • Use Autodesk REVIT and AutoCAD proficiently to support the mechanical, electrical, and process engineering teams
    • Model ductwork, piping, conduits, and equipment
    • Import, modify, and maintain Autodesk Revit libraries and AutoCAD standards
    • Develop custom libraries and models
    • Develop templates, standard details, intelligent custom blocks


    Physical Requirements:

    • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
    • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time.
    • Physically able to travel and conduct field studies.
    • Ability to traverse various terrains including rough terrain.
