Billy Black Photographer For Sail is looking for an assistant!

We are a bustling photography company looking for a talented assistant to coordinate assignments, manage/deliver files, as well as organize/edit photography & videography. The successful candidate will be able to collaborate with Billy and clients to facilitate assignments and deliver content in an efficient, detail-oriented manner.

A strong applicant must have excellent organization, time management skills, as well as a passion for communication and technology.

In-person office work, and occasional onsite assistance on jobs are necessary aspects of the role. Remote opportunity is available, but applicants must be able to work in Portsmouth, RI office part-time. An interest in photography, (specifically marine-oriented) and on-water experience is a plus.

This is the perfect role for a recent college graduate, or a current college student looking for real-world experience!

Responsibilities:

• Upload, organize, and edit large amounts of files, (specifically photo and video)
• Manage SD Cards and Files to be comprehensively, and neatly saved to hard drives, servers, etc.
• View imagery and make selections of best work– delete blurry/mistake photography and videography etc.
• Upload RAW files to Dropbox to be delivered to photo processor/video processor for editing
• Deliver hard drives physically to photo processor in the event of accelerated deadline, etc.
• Coordinate with photo and video editor on timeline of delivery of assignments to clients
• Deliver completed processed photography and videography to clients in an efficient manner
• Keep track of Dropbox– organizing folders and ensuring photography/videography is delivered to clients
• Manage Gmail Inbox, responding to clients and prospective jobs efficiently and courteously
• Assist with managing Billy’s schedule– booking jobs and ensuring none overlap
• Work with Billy to create written proposals for jobs
• Create invoices and send to clients for completed work
• Help with miscellaneous technology needs and questions around the office as needed

Skills:

• Proven skill with strong organization, time-management, and detail-orientation
• Strong experience with: digital technology, Mac operational skills, Adobe Suite, and additional relevant software such as Dropbox, Quickbooks, WeTransfer, Google Drive, Gmail, etc.
• Experience with file management and photo editing/delivery
• Creative mind with an eye for detail and storytelling skills
• Can-do, passionate demeanor with willingness to learn & adapt

Job Type:

• Part-time
• Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
• Work Location: Remote & On-Site, (Portsmouth, RI)
• Must be willing to travel to Portsmouth, RI & surrounding areas
• Flexible Hours, availability during week & weekend

Experience:

• Work experience in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment: 1 year (Required)
• Strong sense for technology and communicating with others: 1 year (Required)
• Adobe Suite and similar applications: 1 year (Required)
• Photography/Videography experience: 1 year (Preferred)
• Marine/on-water experience: 1 year (Preferred)

Education:

• High school or equivalent (Preferred)
