POSITION SUMMARY: School nursing is a specialized practice of professional nursing that advances the well-being and academic success of students. School nurses facilitate positive student responses to normal development; promote health and safety; intervene with actual and potential health problems. School nurses work within and outside the school district to develop, monitor, and assess outcomes of nursing care plans.
The certificated nurse assists in the development and evaluation of IEP and 504 plans of students with health needs.
