Reporting directly to the SVP, Chief Strategy and Treasury Officer, the Investment Strategy and Bond Accounting Officer is a key member of our Accounting/Finance department.  We are seeking a highly experienced individual with strong analytical skills who can effectively measure and monitor interest rate risk for the bank and oversee the bank’s bond portfolio. The successful candidate must have substantial experience relevant to asset liability management modeling and interest rate risk measurement. Essential Job Functions include, but are not limited to: Review and provide guidance on the Bank’s investment portfolio. Cash flow analysis for Bank investments and asset liability management. Supports and implements modeling changes required for effectively managing the company's financial resources for asset liability management and interest rate risk measurement. Utilizes quantitative models and frameworks to optimize, analyze, and manage the bank’s interest rates for income and expense. Coordinates with internal and external modelers to develop models and communicates events in assumptions and reporting for asset liability management. Identifies, assesses, mitigates, and implements risk management strategies to protect the bank from adverse market conditions. Reports compliance with policy and execution of plan to ALCO. Conducts in-depth research on securities and related documents to properly administer the bank’s bond portfolio. Oversees the bank’s bond portfolio and analyzes bond portfolio performance. Provides information for quarterly call reports and preparation of annual financial report as it relates to the bond portfolio. Understands business needs and data requirements to support implementation of frameworks, models, and processes. Operates under and complies with the requirements and guidelines established by the regulating authority of financial institutions. Assists with regulatory and external reporting requirements as needed. Perform all duties in relation to the Bank Secrecy Act under the guidance of the BSA Officer.   To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education, Experience and Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in economics, Finance, Accounting, or Business preferred but requisite experience with Bank investments and interest rate risk modeling acceptable. 3 years of experience in Corporate Treasury or Financial Analysis acceptable. Investment experience for Banks and exposure to Bank Bond accounting systems. Experience at a financial institution with assets size exceeding $3 billion is preferred but not required. Physical Requirements of Essential Job Functions:   The associate is frequently required to sit and/or stand, communicate, reach, and manipulate objects, tools or controls that are typical of an office/bank environment. Lifting items weighting up to 10 pounds on a consistent basis. Manual dexterity and coordination are required over 80% of the work period while operating equipment such as computers, phones, calculators, etc. Working Conditions: Typical office environment. Extended viewing of computer screens. Regular office hours are Mond thru Friday from 8am to 5pm. At times, working outside of the stated regular hours may be required.
