  • Job Summary:
    We are seeking a skilled Bookkeeper to join our team. The Bookkeeper will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, performing various accounting tasks, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in bookkeeping and possess excellent attention to detail.

    Job Duties & Responsibilities:

    A. Analyze the Chehalis Tribal Housing Authority accounts to ensure compliance with regulatory and statutory requirements and adherence to GAAP.

    B. Review bank and investment reconciliation and assists in monthly reconciliation of the GL and other accounting sub-ledgers.

    C. Generation of monthly financial statements for multiple finds, grants, and accounting group types.

    D. Assist in annual financial statements and audit preparation.

    E. Assist in preparation of grant financial reports and revisions.

    F. Prepare specialty financial reports and related work.

    G. Responsible for working with account code structure, budgets, purchasing, encumbrance, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and accounts receivable.

    H. Works with Internal Control Microix/MIP Accounting systems.

    I. Keeps a complete set of records of the financial transactions of the Chehalis Tribal Housing Authority.

    J. Summarizes financial details on separate ledgers, using calculator and/or computer, records to show monthly reports, such as cash, receipts, expenditures, accounts payable and receivable, profit and loss, and other items pertinent to the financial operations of the Chehalis Tribal Housing Authority.

    K. Balance checkbooks and ledgers. Reconcile bank statements monthly/quarterly. Research and resolve accounts payable issues with vendors as needed.

    L. Computes billing amounts and creates invoices per policy or per grant directed.

    M. Compiles amounts owed by the company to vendors, suppliers, or other organizations/individuals.

    N. Prepares vouchers, invoices, checks, account statements, reports and other records and review for accuracy. Enters accounts payable information and creates vendor payments for approval and processing.

    O. Code data for input to financial data processing system according to company procedures.

    P. Processes and verifies applications for credit and solicits payment/receipt on overdue accounts.

    Q. Research and resolve accounts payable issues with vendors as needed or assigned.

    R. Prepares emergency checks as required.

    S. Void stale check as needed, and reissue lost checks.

    T. Helps file AP check and other AP documentations.

    U. Responsible for the General ledger implementation of payroll information provided by Human Resources.

    V. Computes billing amounts and creates invoices per policy or per grant as directed.

    W. Reviews, and reconciles accounts monthly.

    X. May be assigned duties under the Chehalis Tribe Emergency Management Plan and Program.

    Supervision:

    A. Supervision Received: Performs work independently with minimal supervision. Must be self-motivated with ability to work without direct supervision.

    B. Supervisory Responsibilities: None.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    A. Education & Experience: An Associate Degree in related field. High School diploma/GED and three years of direct experience can be substituted for Associates degree. Prefer experience with American/Indian Alaska Native communities.

    Pay: From $57,000.00 per year
