Additionally, Bookstore Director - Higher Ed. prepares and manages the staff work schedule so that the store is adequately staffed. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a senior institutional officer. The Bookstore Director - Higher Ed. manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Extensive knowledge of department processes.      We are currently seeking a Project Manager to join our Higher Education team

     

     Responsibilities

    • Take responsibility for finished plans, specifications, and approval of materials and construction and for managing all aspects of multiple small to large complex projects
    • Apply sound knowledge of architectural principles and practices in a broad array of assignments and related fields
    • Lead a collaborative and inclusive design process
    • Assist with budget management
    • Prepare design presentation materials
    • Partner with client and/or user group to develop design
    • Conduct code research and analysis and review with various agencies for approval
    • Collaborate with engineers, consultants, contractors and/or clients
    • Supervise and provide guidance regarding overall objectives, critical issues, new concepts
    • Ensure that the project meets environmental, safety, structural, zoning, and aesthetic standards
    • Build, manage and nurture client relationships
    • Review shop drawings, submittals, and respond to RFIs
    • Be a thought leader, research and investigate concepts throughout design process
    • Actively manage client budgets, schedules, and programs, project communications and documentation, office administrative tasks, and project team assignments
    • Estimate fees, determine scope of work, and prepare proposals
    • Serve as primary client liaison to bring the schedule, budgets, and scope of work to completion and to the client’s satisfaction. 
    • Exercise professional judgement in areas of contractual liability
    • Other duties as assigned


    Requirements

      Required Qualifications

    • Professional degree in Architecture from an NAAB-accredited program
    • Ability to provide business development for firm within practice expertise area
    • 6-8 years combined experience as a design professional and/or architect
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Suite, Adobe Creative Suite, and Revit
    • Firm grasp of building technology fundamentals
    • Thorough knowledge of relevant codes, operations, processes, and trends
    • Excellent time management, organizational and written and verbal communication skills


    Preferred Qualifications

    • Master's Degree of Architecture
    • Registered as a licensed architect
    • Experience with Newforma Project Center and/or Newforma Project Analyzer
    • Experience with Microsoft Project, Bluebeam PDF Revu
    • Additional relevant certifications indicating additional expertise such as for construction administration, interior design, LEED/Green Globes/sustainability, etc.
    • Experience writing and editing specifications Write and edit      specifications as assigned
