Job Title: Branch Manager/Personal Banker
Department: Branch Manager/Operations
Reports To: Steve Kemmer
FLSA Status: Exempt (if supervise 2 or more full-time employees)
SUMMARY
Manages branch or office of financial institution by performing the following duties:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
"Sets the tone" for the branch each day by being 1) first one on site for proper branch opening and last to leave to ensure end of day is complete, 2) develop plans for the branch daily, 3) coordinate and ensure branch involvement in bank/product promotions.
Protects bank assets by 1) making sound decisions daily on non-sufficient fund deposit accounts, 2) working toward elimination of charge-off deposit accounts, 3) assessing risk to ensure all transactions executed by branch personnel are within bank policy.
Ensures branch deposit goals are met/exceeded as well as branch referral goals to include investment, mortgage and treasury management.
Ensures cross-sell goals are met/exceeded and bank products and services are sold as appropriate to customer needs.
Attends/on time for all branch manager/personal banker meetings, conference calls and share ideas.
Interviews customers to evaluate customers' needs and offer appropriate financial products and services.
Prepares, compiles and inputs into the computer system new customer application information to open new accounts while ensuring completeness.
Answers customer questions and investigates and corrects errors, following customer and bank records.
Presents funds received from customer to Teller for deposit and obtains receipt for customer.
Executes wire transfers of funds as needed.
Provides ongoing relationship servicing with current customers to maintain goodwill and gain additional business.
Coordinates and assists other departmental personnel in resolving any customer issues.
Promotes and cross-sells other bank products and services as appropriate to customer requirements.
Provides deposit and loan data to support marketing and sales promotion programs.
Scanning of customer account information as needed.
Ability to perform teller duties as needed.
Performs other clerical tasks such as filing, typing, and operating office machines.
Obtain credit records from credit reporting agency following bank guidelines.
Proactive in handling branch maintenance issues.
Ensures branch is sufficiently cross-trained for each position as well as trained to cross-sell bank products.
Ensures branch employee work coverage is sufficient at all times.
Responsible for taking in-house loan applications as required.
Performs branch security audits quarterly.
Ensures teller and vault audits are performed on a monthly basis.
Complete all quarterly loan compliance training as required.
Ensures all bank policy and procedures are followed.
Ensures customer service is prompt and courteous as well as provide ongoing relationship servicing to maintain goodwill and gain additional business.
Ensures all account issues/disputes are resolved in a timely manner.
Generates new business by contacting area business, community and civic organizations to assist in meeting profitability goals.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Supervises branch tellers/personal bankers (specific branch location).
QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily to include the ability to manage, open accounts and operate a teller line. Attention to detail, the ability to multi-task and highly customer service oriented is a must. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE - Bachelor degree with 3 years banking experience in branch management; prefer 5 years experience in the banking industry to include knowledge in teller line, opening accounts and branch management.
