    What you will be doing: 
    As the Surveillance and Utilization Review Supervisor within the Quality Assurance section, you will be responsible for leading a team of professionals in support of Alaska's fraud, waste, and abuse efforts for the Medicaid Program. This will include leading provider investigations, reviewing medical records, analyzing data, pursuing overpayments, following up on tips/leads generated from data analysis, explaining medical benefits responses, and caring for the fraud and abuse hotline. Additionally, this position leads the patient-facing initiatives to care for vulnerable Alaskans, overseeing the Care Management Program and the Alaska Medicaid Coordinated Care Initiative.

    The Quality Assurance unit is instrumental in protecting the integrity of the Medicaid Program. By monitoring compliance with State and Federal health care regulations, this role directly helps safeguard Alaska's member and provider communities. The business processes and contracts overseen by this unit are central to supporting the Division's mission to provide oversight of Medicaid services for eligible Alaskans.

The QA team provides frequent opportunities to interface with Division leadership from around the Department of Health in support of investigations and special projects.
