    We are seeking a driven and experienced Broadcast Technician Supervisor to join our team. Reporting to the Network Operations Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating broadcast technical operations to ensure the successful execution of projects and maintain high standards of quality. This role will involve managing a team of technical professionals, optimizing processes, and fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, proven leadership skills, and the ability to drive the team towards achieving organizational goals.     Direct Reports: Betwen 3-4; ranging from Broadcast Technician's I-III

     

    This position will be on-site at our office in Franklin, TN. We are only considering candidates within the greater Nashville area at this time. 

     

    Work Schedule - Normal business hours; 9:00 AM-5:00 PM, CST

     

    What You Will Be Doing...

    • Supervise Tech Shop team, including Broadcast Technicians and RF Compliance Engineers.
    • Provide guidance and mentoring, maintain staff schedules and timecards, assist Network Operations Manager with performance conversations, and perform other leadership duties as assigned.
    • Assemble and install broadcast equipment as instructed.
    • Build, modify, and repair broadcast equipment to the discrete component level.
    • Partner and communicate with EMF and contract engineers across the United States and its territories.
    • Assist in the installation, operation, test, maintenance, and repair of broadcast equipment (such as audio processors and modulation monitors) used in radio broadcasting, upholding EMFs above industry standard of quality for our Listeners.
    • Process equipment returns, transfer equipment to proper locations, and perform basic tests on equipment, maintaining tracking and inventory data as needed.
    • Perform FCC compliance tests including RF Proof of Performance, RFR, and other studies evaluating the proper operation of broadcast equipment and stations and properly document the results of these tests.
    • Provide Field personnel with troubleshooting assistance on the phone or in person.

    What We Are Looking For...

    • Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent college, technical school, or two years or more of relevant experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education.
    • SBE Certification desirable.
    • Minimum 2 years’ supervisorial experience, added plus.
    • Experience in broadcast equipment assembly and optimization is a prerequisite.
    • Previous experience as a Broadcast Technician highly desirable.
    • Proficiency in using both basic and advanced test equipment, including spectrum analyzers, and the safe utilization of basic hand and power tools.
    • Skill in soldering and de-soldering electronic components according to industry standards.
    • Proficient in authoring routing reports and correspondence.
    • Effective communication skills when interacting with customers, listeners, or team members.
    • Competence in reading component color codes and data sheets.
    • Proficiency in reading wire and circuit diagrams.
    • Capability to read and develop logic truth tables.
    • Strong mathematical skills and comprehension of electrical units of measure.
    • Proficient in using MS Office products and other common software applications.
    • Good understanding of applicable FCC rules and regulations.
    • A collaborative and flexible style, with strong service mentality. Need to be seen as a team player.
