Budget Director directs and controls an organization's budgeting and financial forecasting activities. Leads the budgeting process for annual, quarterly, and monthly budget development. Being a Budget Director develops budgetary policies and guidelines to meet short and long-term financial goals. Establishes processes to incorporate past financial results into budget development. Additionally, Budget Director monitors and analyzes performance against budgets. Develops and implements tools and reporting used for planning, forecasting, monitoring, and decision support. Presents budget data to senior management and/or board. May require a MBA. Typically reports to top management. The Budget Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Budget Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.     HIGHLY DESIRED SKILLS

    1. Experience working with Defense Intelligence Agency Military Intelligence Program and Air Force operations and maintenance funding.

    DIA positions are Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS) positions in the Excepted Service under 10 U.S.C. 1601. All applicants must be U.S. citizens at the time of application. Applicants must meet the agency’s conditions of employment, to include, but not limited to, satisfactory completion of an initial special background investigation and periodic reinvestigation, completion of any required medical examination and physical requirements, completion of any required personal interviews, favorable completion of any required initial or aperiodic polygraph examinations, completion of any required drug test, satisfactory completion of a two-year Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System trial period, and completion of a civilian mobility agreement. All employees are required to sign an agreement not to disclose, in any fashion, classified information to unauthorized persons. All civilian employees are required to participate in the DoD Direct Deposit/Electronic Fund Transfer of Pay (DD/EFT) Program.
