Building and Grounds Supervisor supervises and trains building and grounds maintenance staff. Oversees landscaping activities, the maintenance of sidewalks and parking areas, and the removal of trash and snow. Being a Building and Grounds Supervisor maintains and monitors the operation of all utility systems such as heating, ventilating and air conditioning. May be responsible for the housekeeping staff. Additionally, Building and Grounds Supervisor, a level I supervisor is considered a working supervisor with little authority for personnel actions. Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Working team member that may validate or coordinate the work of others on a support team. Suggests improvements to process, is a knowledge resource for other team members. Has no authority for staff actions. Generally has a minimum of 2 years experience as an individual contributor. - Cleaning classrooms, offices, bathrooms, hallways/stairwells, multi-purpose rooms, windows, etc.
- Daily trash removal
- Athletic event set-up and tear down
- Minor maintenance fixes/work orders
- Transferring items to different locations within the buildings, including lifting boxes
- Summer cleaning as assigned
- All required clearances are paid for by Palmyra Area School District
- PAID holidays - you do not have to work on holidays!
- Receive 10 paid sick days annually, which can accumulate from year-to-year if they are not used
- Paid vacation time is earned after six (6) months of employment
- A $20,000 life insurance policy provided at no cost to the employee
- Amazing family benefits - medical, dental, vision, and prescription benefits - are provided by PASD with two (2) medical plans for employees to choose from!
- Our PPO medical plan has a $500 (individual) or $1,000 (family) deductible
- Our High Deductible medical plan has a $2,000 (individual) or $4,000 (family) deductible - and PASD contributes $1,500 (individual) or $3,000 (family) into your Health Savings Account annually
- If you do not need benefits, a paid waiver is provided annually!
- Palmyra Area School District will pay the full cost of tuition and any reasonable expenses for courses, workshops, seminars, conferences, or in-service training sessions (up to $1,200/year)
- Employees will have a pension through the Pennsylvania School Employee Retirement System (PSERS)
- Employees are eligible to participate in 403(b) and Roth 403(b) programs
