EXAMINATION SCHEDULE
Written Exam : will be conducted on May 22, 2024.
Examinations:
Written Exam (Weight 100%): Will be conducted for the purpose of assessing the applicant's knowledge of construction trades; applicable laws, codes and regulations; and, safe work practices and other related topics.
Applicants must attain at least a 70% score on each phase of the exam process.

Minimum Qualifications/ Employment Standards:
High School Diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent, AND three years of related construction experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to obtain the knowledge and skill to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.
Additional Requirements:
- California Drivers License
- Building Inspector must obtain Certification in one (1) of the following categories within twelve (12) months of initial appointment. Failure to obtain certification will result in termination.
International Code Council (ICC) Certification in one or more of the following categories:
- Building Inspector
- Electrical Inspector
- Mechanical Inspector
- Plumbing Inspector
OR
Office of State Health Planning and Development (OSHPD), Class A Certification.

Following an offer of employment, you may be required to submit to post offer medical and drug screening tests at County expense.
This examination will establish an eligible list from which immediate an immediate appointment will be made at the Public Works Department. Other permanent and temporary appointments will be made as needed.
