Building Inspector, Sr. inspects initial construction and additional repairs to ensure adherence to contract specifications, building ordinances, and zoning laws. May be assigned to residential or commercial structures. Being a Building Inspector, Sr. may require an advanced degree. Typically reports to supervisor or manager. The Building Inspector, Sr. gains exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. Occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Building Superintendent wanted for a 60 unit, elevated building in a nice area of Passaic. Duties include:
- Handling resident complaints and performing repairs as needed.
- Painting and preparing vacant apartments for new rentals.
- Keeping building meticulously clean. Take out the trash. Shovel snow when necessary.
- Assist in renting vacant apartments.
- Deal with local and state officials as needed.
- Be available 24/7 for building emergencies.
- Call to and oversee contractors that work on the property.
The ideal candidate will be an individual or a team that will reside on the property in a One-Bedroom apartment rent free and will receive a weekly salary commensurate with experience. Must have experience and have all the necessary tools to perform the job. Knowledge of heating systems and plumbing extremely helpful.
