Business Analytics Director manages and oversees business analytics projects and processes to provide data-driven insights related to business performance used to advise and develop strategies for operational improvements and future business initiatives. Utilizes KPIs, business performance data, industry trends, competitor intelligence, and customer information to develop analytical tools, reports, and models across the organization to inform and support decision-making. Being a Business Analytics Director consults with stakeholders to understand the business model, objectives, issues, and challenges that analytics can support. Develops standards and collection processes to support robust analytics and reporting data pipelines. Additionally, Business Analytics Director builds teams with statistical methods, modeling, analytical methodologies, and data analysis skills to support the business. Requires a bachelor's degree in finance, statistics or a quantitative field. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Business Analytics Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Business Analytics Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience.     POSITION SUMMARY

    The Analytics Director provides result-oriented leadership and directs the management, development, and integration of data analytics and business intelligence necessary for achieving organizational goals. This role will lead to AWP’s core values and mission of protecting our customers’ people, business, and time. This position will direct the development, implementation, coordination, and continuous oversight of all Analytic functions ensuring the integrity of all data produced and utilized for business strategy.


    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Collaborate and support senior leadership teams in finance, commercial, operations, safety, to identify the hypothesis and validate theories
    • Create and foster a data-driven culture across the company through the implementation of a single source of data, establish broad data access for business users, and leadership training to self-serve most business questions
    • Design, implement and track KPIs to measure performance against strategic goals, identify emerging trends, and provide insights about the drivers of performance
    • Drive initiatives with decision-makers at all levels of the organization by generating and communicating analysis and recommendations to benefit organization strategies
    • Develop and provide leadership with accurate and comprehensive data to ensure that outcomes are robust, attainable, and measurable
    • Build and manage the delivery of analytics roadmap to support growth; proactively identify opportunities to evolve analytics based on needs of leadership
    • Collaborate with stakeholders of all levels and understand their interests and goals and identify hypothesis to improve business functionality
    • Identify and provide solutions for staffing, technology, processes, and financial resources necessary to address the current and future needs of the business
    • Analyze and understand business requirements and system enhancements to aid in the development of improving functionality
    • Monitor and maintain analytical workflow for weekly leadership meetings include: pulling and mining data; spotting trends and deepening analysis to tell the story; clearly presenting insights in professional presentations
    • Other duties as assigned


    QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION

    • Bachelor’s Degree required in Finance, Analytics, or Economics
    • 5-10 years’ management experience within a corporate enterprise a plus
    • 1-2 years’ analyst experience preferred
    • Demonstrated ability to contribute strategically by identifying, developing, and implementing process improvements
    • Strong influencing and relationship-management skills; ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization
    • Ability to present complex analysis in a simplified non-technical manner
    • Advanced technical knowledge of SQL codes, Tableau, and analytic software
    • Previous experience with ETL solutions and data cleaning tools such as Tableau Prep
    • Thorough understanding of data structures and different data source limitations
    • Project management and private equity exit process experience preferred
    • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
    • Must be able to maintain confidentiality and have a high level of integrity
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

    • Hours of operation may vary based on staffing needs, primarily M-F, dayshift
    • Primarily sedentary or working at a desk
    • While performing duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear
    • The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, or reach with hands and arms
